Rusina Fields, East Harling, Norfolk, NR16 2QE

Take a look at our exciting new property developments located at Rusina Fields, East Harling.

Rusina Fields is an exciting new development offering a selection of  2, 3, 4 & 5 bedroom new homes built to a high standard. As with every Heritage property, detail is very much at the heart of each home and homeowners can expect high specifications which identify all our developments.

Rusina Fields is situated in the historic and beautiful Norfolk village of East Harling. The site, which is named after the areas historical Ancient Roman connections, is located some 8 miles (13 km) east of the town of Thetford and 25 miles (40 km) southwest of the historic city of Norwich.

East Harling is served by the railway station at Harling Road and is within easy reach of the A11 London to Norwich road route. Within East Harling there is a lively village atmosphere along with an array of useful amenities, including public houses, a specialist butcher, a doctor and a dentist, a supermarket and post office, schools, various shops, salons, restaurants and takeaways.

The nearby market towns of Diss and Attleborough also offer fast rail links to London Liverpool Street and Cambridge with regular journey times of around 90 minutes to the capital.

The village also boasts some fascinating historical links, for example, the famous author James Pattinson was born in the village and spent much of his life here. His novel, Dead Men Rise Up Never was set in the village and features a dramatic denouement by the weir on the River Thet close to East Harling church.

The historical novelist George MacDonald Fraser was based in the area during World War II and provides the setting for his story Mr. American - the tale of Mark J. Franklin from Nevada who comes to Norfolk in search of his family's roots.

The impressive church at Harling is linked with the Dutch painter Hans Holbein. For years, art experts have tried to identify the lady in Holbein's picture A Lady with a Squirrel and Starling (shown below). It is thought that she may have been Anne Lovell, the wife of Francis Lovell who inherited the family estate in 1542. Finally, from 1808 to 1814, East Harling hosted a station in the shutter telegraph chain connecting the Admiralty in London to its naval ships in the port of Great Yarmouth.
